You're scaling a team and the codebase is starting to show it. Onboarding takes too long, releases are shakier than they should be, and you need someone who's been in this situation before and knows what to do about it.
What I do
Staff engineer
Embedded in your team, working at the level of systems and decisions rather than just tickets. I think about how the pieces fit together, where the bottlenecks are, and what the team needs to move with more confidence.
Engineering lead
Interim or part-time team lead. I've been in this role multiple times — some with the title, some without. If you need someone to steady a team through a difficult period or a critical delivery, that's work I'm comfortable with.
Technical audit
Short engagement: I come in, read the code, talk to the team, and give you an honest assessment. Architecture, quality, process. I try to leave you with something useful to act on, not a report that sits on a shelf.
Data & analytics setup
Instrumentation, experimentation infrastructure, dashboards that get used. If your team doesn't have good visibility into how the product is performing, this tends to change how decisions get made.
Best use of me
The engagements where I add the most value are the ones listed above — a team that exists, a product in motion, problems worth solving together. If you're looking for someone to own a solo greenfield build end-to-end, there are probably better fits for that specific job.
