What I do
Tech lead
Embedded in your team. I work on systems, decisions, and bottlenecks, not just ticket flow.
Engineering lead
Interim or part-time team lead. I have done this with and without the title. Useful when a team needs stability through a rough period or a hard delivery.
Technical audit
Short engagement: I come in, read the code, talk to the team, and give you an honest assessment. Architecture, quality, process. You get something to act on, not a report that sits on a shelf. I wrote about how I run audits and what teams usually miss.
Data & analytics setup
Instrumentation, experimentation setup, dashboards that people actually use. Better visibility changes decisions.
Best use of me
The engagements where I add the most value are the ones listed above — a team that exists, a product in motion, problems worth solving together. If you're looking for someone to own a solo greenfield build end-to-end, there are probably better fits for that specific job.
What I don't do
- Solo greenfield build-and-disappear consulting
- Staff-augmentation where I'm expected to just close tickets quietly
- Architecture theatre without ownership, delivery, or follow-through
- Teams that want certainty but do not want to measure anything
None of this is a moral judgement. It is just where I am usually a worse fit and where you should probably hire someone else.

Availability
I work on hourly rates. Typical engagements are 12+ months. Currently available from April 2026.
