A long long time ago I blogged regularly. I mainly wrote about frontend web development, I even got some traction for some of the posts. And now I have no idea where to find those, so lets start a new chapter on hising.com. I have a lot of thoughts on software development and technology, and I’m excited to get back into writing.

What’s next?

I always try to learn new stuff, and in the beginning of my career (1999) I tried to get on any hype train, for a while I managed to do that, it took a lot of coffee, some cigarettes, a lot of snus and a lot of time. Later on I realized that it is impossible to keep up, and you need to find small libraries, frameworks, tools etc that you love during your career and use them until better alternatives are available.

jQuery was the GOAT until it wasnt. Back then it felt like magic, now I wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole.

Stuff has evolved so much since then, we have amazing open source projects that lets us stand on the shoulders of giants. We can be up and running in minutes, and we can build amazing things. The job has moved away from being a dedicated programmer or developer to someone who is more like a tech plumber.

So what does all that have to do with blogging? Well, I’m excited to write down my thoughts on software development and technology, team work, the philosophy of software development, and maybe some personal stuff as well.

Things I am interested in and would like to write about:

  • What happens when AI Agents do all the coding for us?
  • How will the education for software engineers have to change in the future?
  • If efficiency is up 100% why is not the salaries up 100%?

Stuff like that, and of course sometimes just small “TIL” moments when I learn something new and want to share it with the world.

So, thats that for now. “Kör så det ryker” as we say in Swedish.
